Matrix MXE Series
In factories or fabrication plants, mobile platforms in use
require both processor performance and requisite I/O functions,
but also reliability to provide long-term, dependable service
despite the harshness of the environment.
In steel fabrication, molten metals are processed in
ceramic-lined steel vessels. The ceramic lining wears,
corrodes, and spalls with of the intense heat generated by
iron process. A method is necessary to determine the
thickness of the remaining ceramic lining, with the resulting
information dictating replacement or repair, as required.
The primary component utilized here is a 3D computer-
controlled laser scanner
These mobile platforms must be able to withstand the effects
of continuous high temperatures, formidable levels of airborne
particulate matter, and vibration generated by the process.
Fan-cooling of the computers is ineffective, resulting in
catastrophic failures of both hardware and software
components.
ADLINK’s Matrix MXE series provides a highly reliable platform fully able to accomplish required tasks in severe environments presenting such conditions
as high temperatures, concentrated airborne particulates, and continuous vibration, thanks to a fanless and cablefree design. It accommodates various x86
based processors to satisfy all kinds of computing requirements. With multiple I/O functions, merging the platform into the system is easily accomplished.
The Matrix MXE Series represents a superior choice for reliable computing platform in severe environments.
